Stem cells can be naturally isolated from various animal tissues and organs and can be produced artificially in the laboratory. Isolated organs are mainly; bone marrow, adipose tissue, dental pulp, synovial fluid, parathyroid, thymus, placenta, amniotic fluid, umbilical cord, cord blood, periodontal ligament, Wharton gel, skin, and so on. In this unit, stem cells from animal tissues and organs are isolated, cultured and subjected to various tests and characterization experiments are performed to prove that they are Stem cells. These include animal derived mesenchymal stem cells, neural stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells, cancer stem cells, various cancer cell lines, healthy tissue cell lines and immune system cells isolation, culture and characterization studies. In addition, the cell culture stages of all basic and pre-clinical research, development and project studies carried out with animal-derived cells whose isolation and characterization are performed are also carried out in this unit.
